Hey everyone!

Just wanted to let y'all know that after a very long board and walk thru process, I am now qualified as an Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist! I am very excited!!!!!!! I cant wait to get to wear my pin. My Daddy will also be giving me his pin from when he served...that is very special to me. It took a lot of work, but it was definitley worth it!

Fantastic !! .... not an easy qual to get. Are you planning to get your Air Warfare pin as well ?? You are in the perfect place to make it happen and that extra edge will sure help you out in the coming years.

I wont have time to get my air on the Kitty Hawk, I'll only be on board for another three weeks or so. I plan on getting it on the George Washington ASAP though. I'm hoping to get onboard and get my book. I don't know the time requirements though, but I've only been on the Kitty Hawk 9 months and they allowed me go get my pin here. You're supposed to be onboard for a year before you're able to even get a book. My Divo is very proud of me, too.

Some ships have relaxed the time onboard requirement .... especially for the first pin. You may luck out ...

You would be sitting pretty good as a dual qual'd PO3. Looks REALLY good on a Sailor of the Quarter / Year board recommendation... (hint, hint).

....... of course that is AFTER you get your new DC quals finished for the new ship :p. (Never goes away does it ?)

I just got word that my son just passed his Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist test!.....I know how much studying that is and I am sooo proud.
