Hello everyone. I have been in DEP for about a month now but to me it feels like everything jus strayed away. I went to MEPS in San Diego CA were i live and completed everything there. I had some family problems that occured the night i got home from MEPs and was sent up to my moms in Los Angeles the next day. This last month of my life i have been going through many things and to be honest did not really have the time to put my mind on the navy and to be honest for this whole time it felt like i never even signed up cause i was so busy with other stuff. The other night me and my mom had a talk about everything and I finally realized that should get my act together and see what i needed to do. I went to a recruiting center up here and got the DEP study guide and have been reading that a lot. I really have not been told anything else to do because for some reason my recruiter back in San Diego just has not told me anything that i needed to do and has not really been keeping tabs on me. I am shipping July 1st and overall know nothing about what I should be doing to get me prepared for boot camp. I am a strong person and know i can get through anything but im just fearing that it is to late for me to do anything to prepare myself for it.

Hopefully I am not completely hopeless for basic... if anyone can give me any suggestions please post anything on here

Thank you for the help

It's never too late as long as you want to better yourself.
Do lots of push ups, and run run run, and that will help you out.
There is a study guide posted on here somewhere also, just look under dep and you will find it.
There are alot of people who show up to boot with no prepreation and they make it thru just fine.
Good luck and welcome

KYmom is right....do all the running you can and start studying like crazy...it is never too late....when both of my kids were in DEP they had to report in each week via phone call and also meet once a month..........here is the link to a study guide....best of luck to you!

i also recommend the PT. you will do plenty of it at boot camp, so it's better to start now. as far a studying, i would make flashcards. when i was in DEP, they helped me out a lot.

I agree, it is never too late! You will do just fine! Get started on running, sit-ups and push-ups. You need to contact your recruiter and make sure he/she knows where you are!
