AD / FTS rating

Is there anyone who has been rated as FTS ?

Are there any differences and how does FTS work. Is there any source to read up on processes etc.

I just got AD / FTS leaving october30.

what are things I need to Consider?

Can I be abroa Or do I just get posted on reserve basis?

Do I still go on boat?

What is FTS like?

Hi there ...

I seem to remember addressing something about FTS on here a while back. See if you can find it and maybe it will answer a couple of your questions. It is basically a program designed to train reservists at stateside bases and certain ships. Yes there is the possibility for travel abroad, however not to the same extent as the regular Navy.

I do have a question for you ..... did you ask your recruiter or the job counselor ANYTHING about the job that you signed up for ???

It seems like the questions that you want to know are common enough that they should have briefed you or at the very least, given you handouts to look at .... BEFORE you obligated yourself to anything.

This concerns me .... please contact your recruiter as soon as possible to fill in the gaps as they will have all the info that you need. I would hate for you to be expecting one thing from the Navy only to get something completely different out of it. This type of scenario is exactly what starts the "My recruiter lied to me" or "They only tell you the good parts".

Please address this ASAP czechfuturesailor, and fill us in on what you find out ... it may help someone else later.

I got your PM ... gonna take me a few days to dig some things up for you ... I'm in the process of a job change, state-to-state move and house renovations.

Am I correct that you are signed up as an AD (Aviation Machinist Mate) in the FTS program ???

I have a senior chief buddy (Aviation Structural Mechanic) out in sunny SOCAL that can get me some info for you if this is the case.
