Ceremonial Guard

Hello everyone, My son phillip is in boot camp right now and PIR is on july 3rd... I just found out in a letter today that he is going to the ceremonial guard in washington dc when he graduates. I am so very proud of him.

Cool duty !! I got to watch them practice at their school at Anacostia (across the river from the White House & Pentagon) last year. Very sharp looking young sailors and definately very busy. It seems like there is some kind of shin-dig going on all the time in that city.

If you get to go out there for a visit ... MAKE SURE YOU VISIT THE NAVAL MUSEUM AT THE WASHINGTON NAVAL YARD !!!! By far the most interesting museum I have ever visited ... all about our naval history. The base is cool too.

thank you all i will pass on the congrats... I hear that the CG aslo has a formal graduation.... so i willl be there for that... and go touring everywhere i can find to tour.... LOL But i read somewhere that it is harder than boot camp....whew!!!!!!!! i know if this is fact i am going to need all of you big time........lol

We went on a tour of the parade yard when my high school choir group went over Easter weekend in 1980.

Start using that computer to see all the awesome things that DC holds! You will love it!
