Stay positive Pam - start writing letters today and then mail them when you get his address. This is an awesome journey for him and I am so proud of him for getting on that Van and taking this challenge. He's fine mom, busy as ever and is filled with excitement, nerves, wonder and will be just fine. Remember to expect the box in a few days with his clothes in a bunch (looks like they step in the box and take their clothes off and get out of the box) funny stuff, after you get over the inital "Oh My God, this is everything my child had with him when he left" feeling.
We are here for you, remember that. Through the ups and downs of this roller coaster ride, if you need to talk you can always email me, anytime.
Hang in there.

Well, the recruiters tell you, go with the clothes on your back...
but there is other information out there that says bring this, that and the other, and the recruiters don't tell them no when they load up for MEPS.
Anyway, my heart breaks for the pain you are in and I will be there myself in a month.
Like the others said, start writing today, tell him all the fun and happy things at home, clip out his favorite cartoon, etc. to include in your letters. Get your family to write him as well.
Take care, we are here for you!

Hi Pam....I wrote my son every single day and wrote to him as if I was talking to him......it was therapy for me.....I sent him pictures from home which are important to them.....and remember that your letters are his only way of being in touch with the outside world....this is why the letters from home are like gold.....and it lifts their spirits to hear their name called during mail call.....however.....don't be surprised if his first letter home is a bit down.....it is very common and it will break your heart......I could hardly read his letter through the tears....but as the letters keep coming.....the letters get more and more upbeat.....he is going through the process......remember...they are going to break him down and bring him back up a much more mature person.....you will be amazed and so proud beyond belief at how much he has grown up when you see him at graduation.......hang in there.....keep writing......and for him to graduate on the 4th of July!.....how awesome!.....keep your head up.....were all here for you.....

Yes lynette I already wrote him the day after he left and intend on writing him everyday so when i get his address i will be mailing alot of letter's. haha I just keep thinking all through the day " I wonder what my baby is doing now." It's the first thought in my head when i get up and the last thought when i go to bed" I say a little prayer for him at night and for god to watch over him and keep him safe"
I will definately send you his address futureIT soon as i get it. thank you so much for offering .

As you get his division and definate PIR date make sure to post something under the PIR topic you may come across others in the same div. or at least with the same PIR date.
And if you are on any other message boards post it there also.
It is great to make that connection.

Please add me to the list to send him letters. I know how important they are and I'd love to encourage him along the way.
