Hey,
Well, where to begin... I suppose the beginning would be advisable. My name is Justen, all my friends call me JJ. I am a 20yr old DEP going in the Nuke program. I actually just finished MEP's on the 25th. I had to keep moving it around because of work. I took the ASVAB and scored a 96 in under an hour, which as I understand it, is some sort of record at PHX MEP's. I ship on January 13th, 2009. I am the first Sailor in a long line of Airmen. My whole family has been USAF, but I told them I didnt wanna be no aircraft mechanic, I wanted to do something cooler, that not many people get to do, so hence my entrance into Nuke. I wish I knew what else to say about myself.

Welcome aboard JJ,

I went through the same MEPS as you did.... only 21 years ago. Good deal on getting selected for nuke training. I hope you are up for what will be the biggest educational challenge of your life ... not impossible, but not easy training by any stretch of the imagination. Just keep yourself focused on your training and nothing but the training until it is complete and then you will have it licked !!

Keep us posted on your progress and if there is any questions that we can answer ... don't hesitate to ask.

Cheers,
PISTOL

Good Luck and welcome.

As pistol says it won't be easy, study hard and keep away from all the distractions and you will go far. Keep your focus on the ultimate goal and don't let other things distract you.

Welcome JJ - glad you decided to join us here at the Cafe'. As the others have said, stay focused and positive and you will be fine. Enjoy all the experiences boot camp and A school have to offer and all the new people you get to meet.

We always welcome new faces (well, new...hmm names here (can't see your face duh.)) and look forward to hearing more about you and what lead you to the Navy.

Thanks all, I know it will be tough but hey, why not be the best you can be at everything you do in life. I am not happy unless I am the best, and I will work harder and longer then anyone else to get to that point. I will try and keep everyone posted on the progress... as of now, I am just trying to get to the best shape of my life. lol

Welcome JJ...Welcome Aboard!!! Congrats on being accepted into the Nuke Program. My son is currently at A School in the Nuke program. It is a VERY intense program!!!! He has time for nothing else but school and study but he loves it and loves the challenge. As the others said you will do well as long as you stay focused and very organized!!! Best of luck.
