Can I just tell everyone that there is nothing like watching your Sailor sleep....at 3:30 am this morning Brandon arrived after a 13 hour drive from FL.....it was kinda a surprise....he called as he was leaving the base.....when he got here he was a bit wired from sugar....lol....and watched TV for a bit and then crashed on the couch.....

I have been up since about 7:30 just kinda watching him sleep.....funny how that just puts a sigh in your heart.....lol....since he joined and each time he has been home I have watched him sleep....special times!!!!!

I know that many of you have experienced this and many more will have the opportunity to do so when your Sailor gets to come home for the first time.....enjoy each moment!

Oh I can so relate Kristie. When Casey and Kylie were home, I'd sneak into their rooms and just look at them. I have a cute picture of Casey laying on the couch sound asleep with the dog laying ontop of him as to say "He's mine, stay back". I will get it off my computer today and post it.

My sleeping sailor after a ten hour drive home.

She got in on Friday night and left Sunday right after church.

So do I she stole that from her brother a long time ago and when I teased her about she said she's not getting rid of it.

I love this! I have a pic of my son the day before boot camp. If I can figure out how to post it I will. LOL All of the family is gathered around a blanket outside, and he is in the middle, snoozing. His 9 month old nephew is poking at his head trying to get him to wake up to play. It is so cute. I, too, sat and watched him while he snuggled on the couch to sleep.

I totally agree. There is nothing like watching him take a nap. :) I don't have any pics of him sleeping, from recently. The only ones I have are from last year, when he was still in college. I took them because he fell asleep at a dinner on our hostess' couch. He looked so peaceful though, and I enjoyed sitting there just listening to him breathe so peacefully.

:-) Wonderful post. I always feel a bit like a crazy person when I do it but I sleep way less than he does naturally so I kind of do it a lot. It makes up for the times when I sleep alone, which is more often than not lol.

There is a really great piece of artwork by Norman Rockwell called "Home on Leave" that I am sure you would all enjoy.
