Wow, Thanks for the big welcome!
We JUST moved back down to the San Diego area after spending the past 3 years or so up in the Bremerton WA area. We are super happy to be back around our friends & family, (and sunshine lol)
Hubby has been "in" for 15 years now. We have been married for going on seven years. We have been through 3 westpacs. One without kids, one while preggers with the twins, and one with 3 kids. We are getting prepared for another "pac" this spring/summer. 2 Pacs in 2 years is tough but its all worth it
Thanks again :)

Wow is all I can say. I know our young wives and girl friends will benifit from your experience.
On a side note I will be moving to the San Diego area this summer. My husband started a new job last month and will be in San Diego to start working this coming week.....Stay close to here when your husband deploys the support and friendships that you will find are awesome.

Hi Lynette~
I'll ask Hubby about the ports. To get "through" the pacs I would have to say, just take it one day at a time.
Also take every opportunity to enjoy yourself when you get the chance. Venture out PAST the bars & shopping when you hit your ports. Find a camel ride, go check out the local museums, sign up to volenteer for the humanitarian projects like ...
While in Hong Kong,250 crew members from the USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76) Carrier Strike Group (RRSG) took part in 10 community relations projects March 8–9, 2007. They included assisting at orphanages and rehabilitation centers as well as working at a dog rescue facility.

In other words... I think the best advice I can give would be... it would be a shame to just float around the world just to visit the closest mall & bar with the same 3,000 people you spend every day with.

I agree.....Brandon just got back from a deployment last Nov and they were always doing something in port.....there was a very large group that went on a Safari and they loved it....they also did a lot of community service....
