Hello to all! It has been awhile since I have had a chance to log in and actually post something. I have been all call for this month and well, I have had to admit so many non-compliant veterans! They have kept me busy day and night! I have heard from my hubby (I got a phone call this past weekend and then the usual letters). I can't believe that PIR is almost here. I found out that Ryan is his division's honor recruit, yeah! I am so proud of him. He told me that he had a score of 4.09 out of a possible 4, not sure exactly what that means, but yaeh again! I am not sure how the honor recruit is chosen, but I have been told that it is a vote taken throughout the division? Ryan told me to expect a special announcement in the mail. I guess there was a girl on the Navy-parents website whose bf was honor recruit and they did not get anything. Should I be watching for something in the mail? Is this something that can change at any time or once he is chosen as long as he graduates he gets it?

Anyway, I hope all is well with everyone. This website has gotten me through the rough times of boot camp, I have been going through withdrawals, not having the time to communicate with you all! I can't wait until Feb, no more call for one month. Won't know how to act!

Whooo hooo it's getting close. I'm not sure on the honor graduate, but I'm sure it won't be long until someone here can answer your question.

We will anxiously await your report on how PIR went. I'm excited for you - remember to bring a lot of tissues and your camera with extra batteries.

Take care.

My husband is also a honor graduate. I spoke with him Wednesday night and he said I should be getting something in the mail also. Nothing yet. He also mentioned for the honor grads families they have some kind of special VIP seats. Only 1 more week left and I'm so excited. I can't wait!!!!

Navywife0125 - I seem to recall seeing some seats roped off - I think my son said those were the honor grads families . . .

Well thats good to know. I hope we're close enough to be able to spot him in the crowd. Does anyone know what being an honor graduate entitles?Do they get some kind of award or something?

Thank you to everyone for your posts. I am really looking forward to seeing him! Navy wife congrats on your hubby being the honor recruit to! Ryan told me that he should receive some sort of an award (I think it is a statue?). I still haven't received anything in the mail and starting to wonder. I guess I will show up really early on Friday just in case there is a problem, well and I don't think I will be able to sleep much the night before! Once the honor recruit thing is decided, it is set, right? Or can they change it? Only 6 more days and counting! Well, I better go. I am at the hospital trying to discharge patients.

Once it is set, it won't change. Is this where the guests of the graduate get special seating and then go to that "special room" after the ceremony to meet and greet with all the Chiefs etc.?

First off, Congrads for your son! I believe it takes longer for you to get to greet him, that's all I know.. :)
