Hi,
Just joined yesterday, and found out from my son's wife that he hurt or strained his back at bc week # 2. I guess he is taking muscle relaxants and waiting for eval.
Does anyone know what happens? Physical therapy, re-start BC or discharge???
Thanks

I think it all depends on what sort of injury it is. If it's permanent, they could possibly discharge him. They might send him to Physical Therapy, give him a break, have him relax until hes better. They might just start him where he left off & he graduate with another class. Good Luck! I hope your sons back gets better!!

My husband hurt his knee in BC. They gave him light duty for about a week and now he is back on full duty. The knee still bothers him, but he wants to finish BC and is working through it. I agree that it depends on the injury and how much they are able to work through it. Tell him good luck and we are all pulling for him to get better.

I'm not sure what will happen, however I agree that it probably depends on how bad he was hurt. He may go to RCU (recruit care unit) to heal and then return to finish up boot when he is able.
I'll keep him and you in my thoughts and prayers and will anxiously await news on his progress.
Good Luck.

CBblue-
While I was in boot camp, there was a girl in my brother division who slipped on a blanket the first week she was there, and still graduated on time. She was in a cast up until about week 6. We graduated on week 7 day 5. I tell you to encourage you! Hang in there. I hope your son gets to experience boot camp and become a sailor!

I agree, it totally depends on how bad it is and how determined he is.
