I have always had sensitive skin, meaning, that some detergents and fabrics make my itch. Other than that, I have NEVER, before now, had any serious issues with my skin. I have recently joined the navy, and since joining, ive seemed to develop a skin condition, (along with the seasonal allergies I developed about a year ago since moving to TN). Well, I saw my dr, and he didn't diagnose it or treat it, all he said was to stop scratching. It seems to ONLY be a problem, as far as the itchiness goes, when Im outside and exposed to extreme heat and/or pollen. however, if i stop scratching at it, it does go away on its on. the areas these flare ups occur are on my neck, arms and legs. my question is this. I leave for basic in january, will they attempt then to determine exactly what it is, if it hasn't completely gone away by then? Although it has cleared up it has left my skin discolored in those areas. If its something that is disqualifying, will they put me out because of it, or can I get a waiver.
BTW, a non-dr friend of mine said that it looked like it could be eczema. I don't even know what that is, or what the symptoms are, for that matter. But IF it turns out to be eczema, will they allow me to stay in, or get a waiver?
