Some what New DEP'er

I have been in DEP for a little while now. I DEP date was actually my 24th birthday back in March so it won't be a date I ever forget. Probably the best birthday I have had. Can't wait to leave and am looking forward to it. I leave 2007 12 04, wished I could ahve finished sooner but wanted to finish up my MBA before I left. Look forward to talking and meeting you all.

Welcome and thanks for being willing to serve. Give us more info like what you are looking to do and any personal info you would like to share. My son is a MA. He was a dep recruit and unfortunately signed the NCS contract and will be separating the end of this year.

With an MBA in the works, are you going on the enlisted track, or the officer track?

Why did you make the choice you made?

Is there a difference for you in going in as one vs the other? And if so, how is boot camp different?

I am going in as a NUC and am pretty excited about it because this is what I wanted to go in for. I origionally started out applying for the Officer track but also realized I did not have some of the courses they require for NUC on the Officer side. Besides that the other option I wanted to apply for which was SWO, I would have had to wait until next year. So this is how I decided on enlisting. I am glad as well because I am not getting any younger as I am 24 and I am more of the physical type of person so I want to experience the entire scene of the Navy. I have always felt the best leader is the one who has had all the experiences.
