Hi guys! Well for those of you that know me (and those of you who don't hi I'm Savannah  ) you know that my hubby is stationed in Sicily, and I will be moving there very soon. We just bought a weimaraner, he is 3 years old, fairly large... and I am moving him along with me to Sicily. We had come so close to buying a puppy but I knew it would take much more time to train a new puppy, etc. I lucked out and found 'Ace' at a shelter, and he is soo amazing! All of that said, the AMC will not ship pets that weigh over 99 lbs (this includes their crate). Ace + his crate exceed the weight limit. Has anyone flown their pets internationally with a commercial airline? I cannot even begin to imagine how expensive it will be, but I am hoping we can find a good deal!! Any other suggestions? Thanks yall! Hope everyone had a great weekend!!

Problem solved, just let Ace come and stay with me in Kentucky. You can come get him when you return.

What are the quarantine laws for bringing a dog in? My sister shipped a dog home from Germany in the 1970s and the dog was held for 6wks here in the states. It will be pretty expensive like the cost of a coach ticket. I shipped a dog from Kansas to Tn and it was like $150. but it was a puppy and weight crate and all 50 lbs it was Sept and the crate sat on the tarmac in Chicago for 6 hrs.

I think I have heard some time ago but can't remember there that if you state that you need the dog as a comfort animal to help you handle flying the can fly with you inside the cabin no matter how big a dog. Don't know if this is for real or not.
