Hi everyone!

I have been absent for a couple of months due to being with my Mother and Dad in the upper peninsula of Michigan,,,,,aka "God's Country!!!!!"

Mom is very frail at 82, and Dad is strong at 83 and taking care of he 100% of the time. I am a teacher and had the time to help Dad,,,,,,I enjoyed it.

My son Evan at nuke school in South Carolina is only a few weeks from finishing power school,,,,,and he is fretting abou passing the Comp test!!!! He has worked very hard and is not confident of the outcome if the Comp test. Whatever happens he has done his best!

Hi Kristie,,,,I have missed your posts!

Hi Jennifer,,,,,,are you still around girl?,,,,or are you off to Japan now? Best Wishes!!!!!

I am happy to be back,,,,,and not tooooooo ready to start schoo; in the near future,,,,,,haha!

Hi Evans Dad,

I am fairly new here. My son is currently at Boot Camp. Tell your son, not to fret his test, as long as he does his best he will be just fine. Let him know we will be praying for him and all the other men and women in the armed forces. Be Proud as I know all of us here on this site are. God Bless each of you.

Hi Everyone,,,,,the summer went by quickly for us, and I will be back at school tomorrow. Mom is frail and suffering with alzheimers. Dad is adament about caring for her at home. I know the time spent there was beneficial for both of them!

I am praying for Evan as he is working very hard to finish out Power School successfully!

Jennifer,,,,,,have the best of times in Japan!!!!!! Do you know how long you will be there on Kitty Hawk? When the ship is decommisioned have you an Idea if you will stay or go somewhere else?

Hi Bob,

I spent the time from late April through late October of 1981 and 1982 in Crystal Falls, MI. I was working on a diamond exploration project at the time. I really enjoyed the UP and the Yoopers and intend to go back for a visit some time in the next few years.

Best of luck to your son at nuke school. My Seabee son just told us his approximate leave dates following the current deployment, and it will have been nearly 10 full months since we've seen him by then. We can't wait!

I asked my sponsor to see maybe an idea of what I will do...and she said that more than likely when the Kitty Hawk pulls into Japan to meet the George Washington in Hawaii [the George Washington is takin the KHK's place] that I will "cross deck" over to the George Washington and head back to Yokosuka!!!!!! I hope, anyway......even though it won't be fun bein away from home...I hate that part. My brother will be home for Christmas, and I won't...and I haven't seen him since last Christmas:bigemo54:
