I read throughout the forum that those who will remain at GL for A school are usually Grad n Go. In my son's case , he stated that he's not. He starts A school on Aug 18. PIR is Aug 10th, so he will be "in between" for a week. Any idea why he's not a grad n go?

If his A school is at GL then he would be considered a grad n go.....Brandon stay there for A school and we had him the entire weekend....unless things have changed....

Check on the graduation information to see if it says Grad N Go.....I feel pretty sure that after graduation he will report back.....pack his stuff....move across the street and then you will have him from Friday night to Sunday night....Jennifer went to Pensacola for A school so she had to report back each night.....hopefully you will get him all weekend....

I spoke with Corey yesterday, he said he wasn't a Grad n Go. He would have to wait a week (Tues) to move across the street and then he will have to work 1/2 days until school starts on the 18th.:(

OH.....now that is different...I have not heard of that happening before....

You may only have him during the day if that is the case......either way.....enjoy every moment you can....and give him a really BIG hug from this Navy Mom....

I'm going to give him the biggest HUG ever. And thank you. I can't wait to see him. He sounds so grown on the phone, I can just imagine how he will be in person.

Greetings,

I am new to this site and a New Navy Mom - daughter, Ashley, left for GL on 7/25. Her PIR date is 9/21/07. Her grad packet arrived yesterday and indicated that Ashley is a grad n go & that we could visit with her for a whole 2 hours after graduation. Do they realize that some parents & spouses have to fly across country for this event and then to only allow 2 hrs to vist with their new Sailor is cruel. Sorry to vent but just had to say it :(

Pat.....that is ok to vent.....we all understand.....the good thing is that you will be able to meet them at the airport and sit with her until her plane leaves.....I am so sorry that you will not have more time....

He must not be grad and go because they may not have room until then..or may not have enough instructors. Just depends.

Hi Pat,

Where in the grad packet did it state that Ashley was Grad n Go? Just wondering as we received Seths grad packet last week and I don't see anything like that on his.

Thanks,
Sue
