Anyone else who may have a loved one on this ship?

I have got my quick phone call the night he got to GL, 2 days ago I got his box, I sure was in high hopes for a quick letter, nothing there but his pant legs were rolled up to his knees, anyone know what that might be about? I have already started sending letter not sure when he will get them.

When should I start making my flight plans? is there any time I should wait before doing so?

Congratulations on the box. The pants being rolled up is due to feet being measured for boots and tennis shoes, then after being measured they then have to drop and box their clothes and put on their new clothes. (smurf suits) is what they call them.

Welcome April....I am so glad that you joined us.....awwww....the box.....I remember my 2 also had legs rolled up....everything just shoved in the box....I had to laugh....you have made it thru the first hurdles....hang in there...

He should start getting mail on the 3rd Sunday....that is when both of mine started getting in....so just keep writing so he will have a bunch of them that first time and be sure to send lots of pictures...they treasure those...

I would go ahead and start looking a flights and hotels....and be sure when you book the hotel to mention that you are there for a Navy graduation to get their discount.....The AmeriSuites (look in the forum on places to stay) is where we stayed both times and it was wonderful.....$69.00 per night and full breakfast free every morning.....
