My son just arrived at Great Lakes Wed, June 20th after being delayed a day due to a cancellation of his flight because of bad weather. Anyone else have a loved one in Ship 11 Division 266?

Thanks for the welcome! I forgot to ask PR at GL what his grad date was - I was so excited to get his address! :) I know of someone who went in a week earlier than my son and her grad date is Aug 10th. I think my son's will then be Aug 17th but we'll wait and see. I am expecting to get his "box" this week. I have already sent him 3 letters and NUMEROUS friends & family have requested his address. We received a 5 second phone call when he got to GL so we can't wait to hear from him again!

It could even be the same day.....my daughter was at the tail end of her group and some that graduated with her had already been there almost 2 weeks earlier.....

We received our first letter this week (not including the form letter sent soon after arrival at GL). I'm still laughing at the fact he said the hardest part of boot camp is folding clothes! He also told us he has to get his wisdom teeth removed and that he is an EPO (educational petty officer). It was great to hear from him and now I can't wait for a phone call. One step at a time I suppose. PIR is scheduled for August 17th.

How great you got your first full letter. My son still hates folding his clothes and at his PIR he wanted one of those flip fold boards but we couldn't find one. He also had to have his wisdom teeth out. He tried to talk them out of it but in the end he said it wasn't bad. It was the ironing that he hated the most, especially since he did it in the middle of the night.

I keep trying to make mine do some ironing& folding now to practice, but he won't. He will in 9 more days. LOL
We already got the wisdom teeth out.

Jennifer also had to have her wisdom teeth out....she said it was not too bad....she got 2 days to sleep all she wanted...lolol....

Brandon was the "Iron PO"....lololol....that still cracks me up.....

Hang in there the letters should come weekly if he writes.....Jennifer was much better at it but Brandon said it was because of his extra duties with being Iron PO....

Hi Donna,

Thanks for pointing me to this site. Hope to get more information and contacts. I haven't seen anything posted on the other site about our boys division. Wonder if you have heard from any other parents? Looking forward to getting another letter from Brian this week.
