Bittersweet Phone Call

While I was thrilled to get a phone call from my son, it broke my heart to hear how miserable he is and to hear that he has an ear infection and a cold. He said everyone is sick.

On the good side of this phone call he said that he took his first written test and got a 4.7 out of 5 and has passed his swim qual. He said his folding skills "suck" and he was going to go practice ironing after he got off the phone. Sundays are the highlight of his week and in his words "what keeps me going."

He is at the half way point this week and I know he will make it and be just fine, but boy the sound of his voice yesterday sure pulled at the hearstrings.

poor guy... it seems no matter what time of year it is, they all get sick! thats rough! but you just keep your lil head up! he is 1/2 way through ike you said... so in just a few weeks you will see him again! Not long now :)

So sorry to hear your son has the Ricky Crud. I don't think there are many, if any that don't get it. Things should start getting better on the second half of Boot Camp. Hope your next letter from him will be more upbeat.
