Hi everyone,

I have been running like crazy since we got home late Sunday night and have not been able to get a moment to get on here and post....I am sorry that it has taken me so long to post.....I missed everyone here very much!

Well.....here goes....PIR the second time around is just as thrilling and goose bumpy as ever...perhaps even more so...

To start off with our flight out of Houston was delayed by 2 hours so we did not get there as early as we wanted but that is ok. I talked with Dawn after we arrived and she was sitting on the plane and was told it would be 2 hours before they took off so they would not be making it to dinner.....

When we got to the hotel I met Jon Bear's Mom in the lobby.....and they followed us to the Full Moon for our PIR dinner....I was sad that Dawn and her group wouldn't be there but Angie "Navy Proud" was there with her crew so we got to meet them.....we all took pictures and I will post some as soon as I get the chance.....Dawn called and said that they were at the hotel and wanted to come for dinner so they went ahead and got there...so we stayed for coffee and desert so that we could meet them...it was wonderful to be able to meet all these wonderful ladies....

On to PIR the next morning....now the will not let you arrive at the gate before 6:30 am and that morning they searched EVERY car....when Brandon graduated it was only a random few that got pulled over and searched.....oh well it was ok....and they did a good job in moving things along....

We got to the hall and the goose bumps started and Jenna started crying very early....lol....then she got me to crying....she was not prepared for the overwhelming feeling that she got when they rolled up the doors and they started marching in.....she was sobbing out of control by that time and it was such a joy to see her so happy....well I can tell you it is really had to video when you are crying...lol....so we have some shaky video....lol

It took awhile for Jennifer to spot us and we could tell when did spot us cause we saw a small smile.....she said she saw dad and then mom with a space between us and then she spotted Jenna between us and she said she "lost her military bearing" and started crying....

When they called "Liberty" it was hard to get to her right away and we could see her standing there crying and telling us to hurry....lolol....well Jenna got to her first and that moment was just precious......she said that us bringing Jenna was the best present she could have gotten.

She got to leave with us after graduation and had to be back that night....and each night that weekend....which we were not happy about but we were very thankful for everymoment that we had with her over the weekend because so many of the parents did not have their children for very long before they left....

We did alot of just hanging out and just walking around....we went to the Shedd Aquarium and that was really a neat place.

It was really hard to leave her Sunday afternoon but at least we will see her in a few weeks.....we plan on taking a trip to Florida before Brandon deploys and we are trying to get him to fly to Pensacola so we can all spend the weekend together for the last time in awhile....

I wish all those going to PIR this week a wonderful visit with their "Sailor".....hold each moment dear to your heart and hug them as much as you can....

Delores......Jennifer read your myspace message and she said..."WHAT......she beat my score".......lololol.....her reaction was funny!

Welcome back Kristie!!!! Glad you had lots of time with Jennifer and so, so glad she and Jenna had a sweet reunion!

It was great meeting you, Carol and Dawn in person. Again, sorry I didn't get to visit as much as I would have liked. With a big crew like mine, you just go with the flow.

Kristie, thanks for sharing your PIR report -- I know that you all must have had a very special time together. So glad you got to bring that little "surprise package" along with you too! I know that was great for Jennifer! I hope that you all get together before your son ships out -- that will be great fun to have the family all together again. Now, I'm sure you've already talked to Jennifer since you've gotten back home -- isn't that nice too -- to be able to talk again! Next time you talk to her tell her hello from her Navy Cafe friends!

Yes they did a good job with the PIR, but then again I was biased because that was my division performing ;) but it was nice. I was a rail guard on the south side and had a pretty good view of that poor fellow who passed out. Thats why they say don't lock your knees!

Thanks IwanttobeanFC, your division did a great job! Congrats on your graduation and thank you for serving!

I was there to watch my son (147) that day. I had expected more Sailors to pass out, from what I've read on message boards. When the flag bearer passed out it sure seemed like he was out cold for quite a while. And it was nice when everyone cheered for him when they finally got him up. I felt really bad for him.

I also thought there would have been more passing out; and of course I kept saying stay up Matt...

When he saw the video that I took he thought it was a seal; I really felt bad for him. The worst part is that I heard if you pass out you can't have liberty you must stay there for so many hours and if his family only had one day...that would be a shame.
