I am new here and new on NP but had been on Navy.com since about the time my son left for BC (2days after) I would be lost without the help and support I have been finding. Sorry but 1 letter a week and 2 phone calls in almost 6 weeks is just not enough :shakeheadno:

Welcome to the site!

I know it's hard, we all have had a hard time...my son is graduating bc this Friday and I agree one letter a week does not cut it.

Just keep writing and this site will definitely help you through!

Good luck and we're here for you.

Welcome to the Cafe,

Everyone here will help you through, some are going through right now and some are on there second time around, and some of us (like me) have yet to experience any side. My son leaves in July for BC.

Hi, I'm Lisa. My sailor is Christopher. He's been in the Navy about 4 years now. Boot camp seems like a long time ago but I do remember how hard it was not being able to know what was going on and how he was doing. Once he got to A school, it was a whole different story. Lots of phone calls again!!! (once he earned his phone and some freedom!) And once he reached the fleet - it was like real life!! So, just hang in there. It won't be too much longer.

I totally I agree about the lack of letters and phone calls...I Truly understand!!
My sailor Spenser called one time...and I got only 5 letters the whole time he was gone!! So believe me when I say I understand what you are saying here!!

But everyone is also right in telling you that once bootcamp is over(and yes there is a light at end of tunnel!!) its so much easier! Now I get calls all the time! mostly for me its to send items he has at home! But i dont mind at all, he's calling!!

We all have went though it...we know how you feel! Lean on us is right!! If it was not for some of these people here I dont think I woud of made it for those 8 weeks!!

Wait til you see your sailor for the first time after PIR...you will know it was all worth it! My son had such pride in his eyes! Sorry rambling on! you know proud navy mom thing..we all have that disease here!! lol

Again Big Welcome!!
