I have Factor V Leiden Mutation which is a blood clotting disorder (bloods too thick). I found out that I had it when I was 16 and now am 26. I have never had an issue with it but was on a blood thinner for about a year.. have not taken any medication since I was 17/18. I wanted to see if there was anyway I would be able to get in. I know there is rules against it but Ive heard things about waivers so idk. My recruiter is no help AT ALL. Also my brother joined the army when he was 18 and he has the same disorder. He never told them but when they tested him they said he had no abnormalities. Should I ask about some sort of waiver or keep my mouth shut unless they find something wrong? Idk what to do but I do know that i absolutely need the navy! Any helo would be greatly appreciated

Don't lie about any of the questions you have to answer. If discovered later, you could be charged and prosecuted for it. Not a good thing.

If the recruiter isn't as helpful as you think he/she should be, go to the Chief and talk to him/her. If it is a matter of you're not being patient enough with the recruiter, then that is all you. Right now, the Navy is (as well as the other branches) kicking people out left and right, so they are being a lot pickier on who they are allowing to sign up. So, with that said, they are picking and choosing with a fine tooth comb.

BTW, I reviewed the enlisted recruiting manual and didn't see your disease as not being waiverable.

How long have you been off the blood thinner?
