I made an introduction about a year ago. I have not been on the site much after that, so re-introducing myself. I graduated college six months ago and have been trying to figure out the question “Now what”. I have taken few police exams, but my desire is not to go into policing.

Been interested in the military for some time and believe going in is the right choice. Many people are saying go in as an officer. I am looking into enlisting as a Corpsman. Looking at the big picture in the end would want to go from Corpsman on to a Master’s program for physician assistant studies and then back to the military as a P.A. I understand there are programs the military offers for enlisted looking into P.A. programs so something to consider as well.

There is some reserve to joining right away. When I confront the recruiter, I want to be prepared to go. Have a few things planned. I am training for a 50 or 100k road race in April I have always wanted to run this event. I was hoping it qualify me sooner for 100 mile road race in October of 2012. Since I will miss qualifying, I will look for another 100 or there is event done throughout the US called Run for the Fallen. Where you run as many miles you can for fallen soldiers. This will give me a bit of motivation. I have joined a gym to work on strength training. I plan to be able to bench at least 200Ibs by May of next year. In addition, also lifting weights, doing pull-ups, dips, sit-ups, push-ups, and chin-ups. I am going to attempt to swim again. I have to work on taking lessons.

My Goal Workout Out within a Year:
Saturday: 24 Mile Run
Sunday: Rest
Monday: 8 Mile Run/ Weight Lifting 1 Hour - Shoulders, Triceps, and Legs/4 Mile Run/900 Crunches – 300 Reps 3X Throughout the Day, 210 Pushups – 15/20/25/10 = 70 Reps 3X, Lateral Crunches 100 Reps 3X, Lever Crunches 15/20/25/10 = 70 Reps 3X, and Flutter Kicks 100 3X
Tuesday: 1.5 Mile Swim/6 Mile Run/30 Chin-Ups
Wednesday: 45 Minutes Elliptical or Stair Climber/4 Mile Run/ Weight Lifting 1 Hour – Chest/Back/Abs/900 Crunches– 300 Reps 3X Throughout the Day, 210 Pushups – 15/20/25/10 = 70 Reps 3X, Lateral Crunches 100 Reps 3X, Lever Crunches 15/20/25/10 = 70 Reps 3X, and Flutter Kicks 100 3X
Thursday: 2 Mile Swim/6 Mile Run/20 Pull-Ups
Friday: 8 Mile Run/ Weight Lifting 1 Hour: Biceps, Forearms, and Legs/900 Crunches– 300 Reps 3X Throughout the Day, 210 Pushups – 15/20/25/10 = 70 Reps 3X, Lateral Crunches 100 Reps 3X, Lever Crunches 15/20/25/10 = 70 Reps 3X, and Flutter Kicks 100 3X
Max Bench Press Weight would be 200IBs. In addition, Dumbbell max weight would be 35IBs. Weekly mileage will average between 56 miles to 58 Miles.

For knowledge, I volunteer with a local ambulance corporation. I am close to certification as an EMT-B. I am planning to take two math courses and online human anatomy class at a local college next year. In addition, my plan is this will help with studying and taking the ASVAB.

I will probably being searching and reading post if I need to answer question specifically. As I, begin talks with a recruiter will have more questions to ask.

Thanks
