It was a pretty quiet weekend around here although Dan got called into work twice on Saturday. We decided not to go out for dinner for Mother's Day yesterday so that we could avoid the crowds and plan on going out either tonight or tomorrow night. We just grilled some burgers instead. Talked with Michael a couple of times yesterday and he's still trying to find another place to stay. He's not given up and says he won't go back to the barracks either. His wife should be arriving shortly for her visit and he said they've actually not been able to chat all that much lately as they're both really busy. She even sent me an email yesterday morning wishing me a happy day and I called her mom (remember that she also lives here at the Beach) and wished her a happy day also and she said she really appreciated that. After last week and being busy almost every day with school stuff, the weekend definitely helped us both in unwinding. We also managed to do one of our longest nightly bike rides last night.
This weekend was extremely busy for us, we had lot's of stuff to do and recover from. Friday night we didn't get to bed until 2am Saturday morning, which is way past our usual bed time. Slept until noon on Saturday which caused us to be late in getting started.
Sunday, went and had the oil changed in the car in preparation for this coming weekend to which we both are looking forward to.
Sunday night, we did our usual, went to Applebees and sat on my favorite stool and had 4 23oz beers and went to home to watch some TV! That's a wrap-up on our weekend!!!

According to the early forecasts....bring umbrellas. Of course we've been looking forward to get-together and it looks like storms into next week. This past weekend Saturday was sunny and gorgeous and Sunday wasn't too bad and no rain. You knew this was going to happen, ya know?
Well, at least it isn't like our spring break trip to the outer banks several years ago. It Snowed. The week before the temps were in the upper 70's.

Wow....the Outer Banks....we haven't been there in years and years. Did you get down to Hatteras and Ocracoke Island? The only way to get to it is by boat, or like most of us, by ferry. Those were fun one-day trips.
No we didn't. We arrived on a Sunday night and it was cool, not cold. By Monday afternoon it started snowing and this was in mid-April. By the next morning, there was some snow on the ground, but it quickly melted and then the cold, cold rain started. We wrapped it up and drove back home on Tuesday.
We were suppose to stay until Friday, but it was just too miserable.

I can definitely say with 110% assurance....no snow is in the forecast for this trip. :woohoo:

Just don't ask for assurances re rainfall....
If it does rain, we will live with it, it's all good. Afterall, we don't have much control over it...
Although some claim the CIA and the Chinese do have control over it. Now keep in mind, I'm not one of those, however.

Well.. the days are counting down.. The sad part is.. what Im nervous about is the Dental.. Lol. I have this stupid broken tooth in the back of my mouth, and I seriously dont want a root canal or anything.. Grrr!!
They will take care of you. I had 2 wisdom teeth removed the same day. If I remember correctly, Steve had a wisdom tooth removed. We both survived, I'm sure you will too...:)

Michael didn't have his taken out when he got there....however, several months ago he did have to have a tooth worked on (of course it was right up front) and wasn't a happy little camper at the time. And he still has his wisdom as far as I know.

The sun finally came out late this morning and it's now nice and sunny. We've had a huge moving truck across the street blocking 2 driveways since early this morning as a young Navy couple are getting moved out. Didn't think they had a ton of stuff to begin with but they've been here for quite awhile now.
Isn't it funny the stuff you can ac***ulate when you live in a house?

It sure is!! We've lived in VB since '86 and have lived in 5 homes. We regularly ged rid of things but somehow new things just keep showing up.
Gee Mom, where have you been today? At the school?

I've actually been in and out of here a couple of times today. Other than making a bunch of copies of reimbursement forms for my treasurer, etc., I was home. BUT, it ways a nice sunny day so I spent a lot of it out on my chaise in the backyard. What did I miss? Tomorrow I do sell cookies like normal.
Nothing much happened, had a few questions and comments, just curious where you were today. I assume you enjoyed the chaise? I hadn't realize you had stuck your head in the door today since noon. Guess, I hadn't paid close attention as I usually do....
Getting pumped up for Friday, we are leaving around 0700 heading to Va Beach!

The weather-guessers (hey, have one in the family and he's used to being called that) are saying even with the rain chances, it won't be a wash-out all day/every day.
That's what we are seeing. I think it's going to be good. We are planning on Saturday afternoon hitting the boardwalk and enjoying it and maybe before that going to the Naval Aviation Museum. After the boardwalk, we will meetup at the restaurant and enjoy ourselves...
