What if a person only says love you and not I love you or miss you and not I miss you when you say I love you to them?

Seriously? We say this all of the time and understand what we mean.

It means you're insecure in the relationship and don't trust what your loved one is saying.
Sorry, but it's the truth.

I think the only time you should be worried if they say like me too.
Could be worse, they could just say "ditto".

my ex used to get really weird about that. If I said 'love you' he would think I was mad at him. Its just a natural way of expressing myself to me, most of the time I wouldn't realize I didn't say 'I', so naturally that would cause some weirdness because he would suddenly be upset and concerned and I would have no clue why. Then it started to make me uneasy because I started to worry that I might say something that he would get upset about without realizing it. Needless to say, we didn't work out. He broke up with me on my birthday last week. :/

I guess my advice is: relax, the person probably doesn't even notice half the time they do it. The point is the idea they are conveying. Love can be expressed in other ways than just the words 'I love you', as well. Getting worked up over it may put undo stress on the situation, and the words and the meaning itself.
Just remember, its love itself that counts, its not the package it comes in.

Thank you for the kind words, VABchMom. I have been trying to keep my mind off of it but he's in the Navy currently, and so sometimes it's hard because its in a way a reminder. He didn't want to date someone who was in the military (unfair double standard) but I wanted to join so when we broke up, nothing was holding me back from choosing anymore. It's kinda a double edged sword, I'm moving on but I am reminded too. But I figure the hurt will fade and I will be left content with my decisions I made for me.

Beauty's only a light switch away man, as long as the body's solid, turning off the lights will take care of everything else.
A code to live by......
And if the light switch is broken or you are outside, don't forget the all important paper bag!

I remember a commercial for this chameleon toy thing and it had a song that went muy muy loco and it wormed itself permanently into my memory (along with ren and stimpy's happy happy joy joy), and now I can't find it anywhere. Google, you disappoint. How awesome would a gif of muy muy loco lizard with a bottle tequila be right now? epic? I know.

Better be careful with that stuff at such a young age, don't do anything stupid that would 1) get yourself killed, like drinking and driving and 2) do anything that would get yourself DQ'd from military service if this is truly what you want to do.

Lmao, I don't get me wrong, I am completely straight edge. For some reason I just do not care for the feeling of being buzzed. Or drunk. And I like my car, and my license, and all the things I would put on the line if I drank or smoked. Why would I sacrifice that over something I don't enjoy in the first place?
With that said, I have some stupid friends.
I had a friend who ate a box of crackers that were shaped like scooby doo one night, he recalled it being delicious. He found out the next morning he and his friends ate an entire box of dog food.

Good, I'm glad to hear that from you! I know people react differently to drinking. Just would hate for your to think you are straight enough to drive when you shouldn't.
I am fortunate, my wife doesn't drink, so guess what. Whenever we go out, she is the designated driver. I NEVER drink and drive and have always taught my son (now 19 yrs old) by example.

Two questions:
1. Why would I try to decide if I am straight enough to operate a 2 ton vehicle after drinking a substance that impairs my ability to make sound decisions?
2. What does sex in a canoe and bud light have in common?

1. I would assume this is a rhetorical question.
2. I have no clue.

I'm like your wife...I was always the designated driver when Dan and I would go out. However, things changed and he rarely has anything to drink anymore. However, when our son and DIL got married, he did have a beer or two and a drink (or two). I got told that I had to drive home. Wouldn't you know it...a police check-point was on the road we were heading home on. What could have been a bad ending to a nice day, turned out okay. They were pulling random vehicles over and we were one of the ones tagged to pull over. The policeman comes up to the window and asks for my license and registration. Major oops...Dan had not planned on having anything to drink but ended up doing so, and I definitely hadn't counted on that and that I would be the one having to drive home. We explained where and what had happened that day and why I didn't have my license with me. He went and chatted to another officer and I got the "don't be driving a vehicle without your drivers license again" speech and he let us go.

Lucky for you!!! You won't catch me behind the wheel after i've been drinking. I'm scared to death of getting a DUI. One time, Lee was small, probably 8 years old, we had went to O'Charlies and I had one (yeah, only one) beer. I didn't think much about it and neither did Sharon and I got in the drivers seat. Drive about a quarter of a mile down the road and a voice from the back seat popped up, "Dad, why are you driving, you had a beer?". I said, "Lee you are so right and I apologize" and immediately pulled over and switched seats with Sharon.
Don't you ever let me hear you refer to good beer like that again and DK3, Landshark is where its at.
I've never had Landshark, will have to give it a try tonight. I pretty much stay with Bud Light and Sam Adams, but mainly Bud Light.
