My son called Tuesday & said he had flunked his 1.5 mile run, but would be given another chance (He's academically gifted, but athletically challenged). My stomach was in knots for three days.
He called Friday to say he'd made his 1.5 time and that he and his Division passed Battle Stations with flying colors. He sounded happy, relieved, and proud. I, myself, have never been more proud.
So, we're off to Great Lakes for PIR on 4/6, for what I hear is an awesome and emotional display. He'll be on his way immediately to Sub School in Groton, and then SECF A School.
I'd love to stay in touch with other submariner families, or anyone from Div 122, Ship 14.
One Proud Papa,
