Another Unexpected call from Jennifer

Well.....I got another call this afternoon....and no it was not one of those that we could talk for awhile...:cry: ...they still do not have all of her information......grrrrrr.....but I won't got there....my husband called recruiter again and let him know that Houston MEPS still has not forwarded the information yet.....the recruiter found out that one of Jennifer's RDCs is one of his friends so he is going to try to fax the stuff directly to him......we will see what happens...

She said that she failed her first run but then Brandon did too and he said that almost everyone does because it is actually a bit longer than normal.....she did have her wisdom teeth pulled last Wednesday and got 1 1/2 days in bed....not the 3 they gave them when Brandon was there.....

She was supposed to have gotten a long call home on Monday like everyone else did but they had her on LLD (Limited Light Duty) because she has developed some fluid on her knees......that is not good.....but she says she is fine and kept trying to tell them she was fine so she could call home.....lol.......

For all those of you whose children have not left yet (KYmom) or those who are there now.....try to keep a small notepad with you so that when you think of something to ask them write it down......lol....i always forget but then this was not a call that we could take time to just chat.....boy I sure do need one of those.....lol

That was about it....but on another note....Brandon who is in Mayport, FL had his wallet stolen in the laundrymat yesterday......military id....drivers lic......debit card.....all gone....but he was smart called right away about his debit card and stopped it....but he cannot get his drivers lic replaced without coming back to Texas and he may not get back till Nov sometime....sure would be nice if someone found it and turned it in.....he was real disappointed to know that one of his Shipmates stole from him....

Oh well.....tomorrow is another day.....and it is LETTER day.....hopefully we get one!

Wow, I feel lucky that I got a letter today! Of course I live in central Illinois but the last letter I got took 8 days....go figure! This was a short one but Alex said he's doing fine, enjoying working out, keeping busy & getting mail from friends and family (he's loving that). He said he's enjoying it all! But then again, he wanted this so bad and worked so hard to get there, it doesn't surprise me in the least that he enjoys it!

Hope you get your letter tmorrow!!

Hi Krisitie, I'm so sorry that they haven't straightened out Jennifer's paper work yet -- that is so frustrating. How was she feeling overall? Did she say if she got enough rest for her teeth being pulled? I hope she is not in pain. As far as the run, my son failed his first running too -- and you are correct, most of them do fail and the run is longer. I too kept a notepad by the phone of questions that I would think of throughout the week and would ask when my son called. I'm so sorry to hear about your son's wallet -- what a pain, and yes, how disappointing -- guess this person forgot about the "honor" he pledged to. Hopefully the DL will show up. So what is going on with Jennifer's knees? Has she had a problem with them before??? Hope she'll get that "real" phone call soon -- I bet it'll be next week.

Kristie, Sorry to hear about Jennifer's paperwork mess up and problems with her knees as well as Brandon's theft. That is tough. My son who is stationed in Florida lost his driver's license so he just got a Florida one. He is home this week and since he was turning 21 he went and replaced his California one.

Glad that you got a phone call, even though it wasn't really a good one.
But then again it beats none. LOL . . Maybe you will get a informative letter tomorrow.
I hope the knee issue clears up quickly for her sake.
That paperwork issue is a mess. You would think somebody would be able to get it right the second time or third time.

Hopefully Brandon'ts wallet will turn up soon.

Thanks everyone.....I got home from church last night and there was a letter.....wooo hooo.....she is actually doing very well....she said all the really do is stand around and wait for something else to do....lolol...

Her teeth came out just fine but the bottom ones were impacted so her jaw is bruised......and 1 1/2 days is not really enough rest for them.....in my opinion...lol...but she is ok.

She has never had any problems with her knees so I am really praying that it does not set her back....she really is a whimp when it comes to pain.....lol....

She did say that yesterday was the 1st day that she did not get a letter but she had 3 left over from the day before that she did not get to read....so that is a good thing but I feel bad that we have not gotten any off yet this week so I am hoping that friends of hers have been sending.....

Her dad and I decided yesterday that we would be taking her little sister...(well not really...little she is 17) with us to graduation....and we are not going to tell either of them so that it will be a really big surprise....Jenna (little sister) has really been struggling.....grades were not good this time around and Jennifer leaving had a really big effect on her and then Brandon left again and now she is really alone for the first time.....we do have another son at home but he is autistic and sticks to himself and cannot communicate so Jenna is really alone.....I can't wait to see her face when the day before we leave I ask her why she is not packed yet.....she is not on the list to attend but we figure it will be fine....there was 3 names on the list but the original 3rd one will not be able to attend so Jenna will be the 3rd....

Krisite, As far as Jenna attending and the names on the list -- don't worry -- my son listed me, my husband and my nephew -- he didn't think his 2 sisters would be able to go -- but my nephew couldn't make it and my 2 girls got in fine with me & hubby -- no questions asked --- just make sure she has a picture i.d.
She'll be thrilled to see her big sis!
