View Full Version : Hello
Helo everyone out there. I am AOC Noce. I am an FTS Sailor. I enlisted from Mesa, AZ, went to boot camp in Great Lakes "A" school in Pensacola and then my first station was Ft. Worth, TX. From there I went on to Willow Grove, PA and then to Great Lakes again, this time to train recruits not be the recruit. Upon my successfulcompletion of a tour there, no always easy, I came back to Ft. Worth where i am now.
I have a wonderful wife who has endured many long nights alone and 4 amazing boys.
remember,

Nick .... you got any pictures of AO's doing their thing ??
That's one of those jobs that is hard for an 18 year old civilian to imagine themselves doing when looking at a classifiers job sheet.
Cheers,

Thanks for the wrm welcoming fellas. I love being an AO but I love being a Sailor and mentor more. When I was 18 I sure as hell never thaught I would be playing with explosives....(legally), but I do not regret it!

Welcome Chief.
Care to explain what the difference is between FTS & Active Duty?

MacSteve,
FTS is a Reservist in Full-Time Support. Really, there is no real difference, however, most FTS directly support the reserves, but I've known many who worked as many hours and along side active duty members. It's really just an accounting class difference for many, many of our FTS brethren.

Is that the same thing as the TARs used to be ??

Pistol, that is pretty much correct. When we went to the One Navy, One Team concept the named changed.
