Just curious what everybody has been thinking about the situation with N. Korea. Seems like the US and S. Korean governments are unwilling to accept the talks hosted by China. What do you guys think is going to happen? Do you think we'll just back down again and go to the talks? Will there be any further conflict? Also, if this were to develop into something more serious, how do you guys see it all playing out?
I sure as hell hope nothing comes of it. Otherwise I will be going into service at the worst possible time lol.

North Korea is angry because... God forbid.... we are usuing money that we usually send to ther countries to try to get out of the recession. I hate that the US has put itself in a situation where the world can say save us or your a bad guy.

I could care less about N.Korea or China .... if we choose to operate in international waters ... we're gonna do it.

This cycle of threats happens again & again with them ... they have so far been full of hot air. They may choose to continue to work over S.Korea ... but they aren't stupid enough for a direct assault on the US.

As for us being in a position where we are considered the bad guy because we aren't helping them ... When they stop ruling their people by fear, intimidation and starving them ... and start contributing something to the world platform ..then I'll give a damn. Until then ... I could care less.

Cheers,

I agree with Chief. This is nothing new with N. Korea. However, what is new is that we have a Commander in Chief that is currently in the apology mode and apologizes for everything that happens in the world on behalf of the United States. Yes, there are things that we should apologize for, however, defending this great nation isn't one of the things we should apologize for, period. It only makes the United States look weak!!

Ive been thinking for years that if N. Korea doesnt change its attitude that there could be some sort of conflict on the peninsula. I dont really agree with the "full of hot air" like cheif said, considering they drop artillery on S. Korean soil like its nothing. I do think their bark is worse than their bite though. Hope I can one day help launch a jet that could return the favor :P

It's all hot air ABH. Back in the mid 90's they threatened the same stuff until Clinton gave them a nuclear reactor to stop their foolishness in return they were suppose to stop development of Nuclear materials. That approach didn't work as they developed their materials in secret. They are wanting something else and will continue until someone (US, Russia, China, S. Korea) gives in and gives to them whatever it is they are after.

I really wish we would just hit them with a giant EMP blast and tell them next time we send them money to spend on food for there people, spend it on food for your people not military or we will keep frying your new toys.

I don't care. PLEASE shoot some artillery at a US Ship.. I hope they do. That way it can stop the round mid air with some of our coordinated and high tech technology combined with
over a century of experience in sea combat, then fire a few missiles and take them off the map.

North Korea is like that fat bully you see in elementary school. he picks on the weak kids stealing their lunch money, but in the end hes just a fat kid who knows hes a loser.

That sums it up Steve, the only difference is this bully has a nuke capability. To be honest Steve, I don't know that the US would respond if they attacked a US Ship, especially now with the apology tours going on and the show of weakness we are showing the world. Think of Iraq when they laid a mine for the USS Samuel B. Roberts in 1988. Of course you were not even thought of then, but google it.
