I think most of the regulars on this board know that I hate politics with a passion ... and usually refrain from any debate on the subject ... but as I've said many, many times before ... this kind of crap is what happens every single time we have a Democrat as POTUS.

Funding for training, weapons ... pay .... it all becomes something easily neglected. If you don't have the basic tools to do your job ... you are nothing more than a target. If you aren't screaming at the top of your lungs to your chain of command about this already, then you are not paying attention.


Oh ... and that measly uniform allowance that they are handing out to you active duty Sailors now is just meant to soften the blow. They know that you'll spend it on frivolous things and be happy for a few nights and not pay attention to the real issue.

I encourage each one of you active duty sailors to do your homework on this ... and find out what you can do about it. When it comes time to vote ... DO IT.


Oh yeah ... and have a Happy Veteran's Day :angry:

Don't get me wrong, Bush has his problems and he paid dearly for them (and so are we) and I am glad he is out of office, however, the man in office now, who is trying to socialize this great country of ours needs to go. However, before he goes he will continue to apologize his way around the world because he apparently doesn't believe we have a right to defend ourselves. By the way, how is all that dialog he spoke of in regards to Iran working out?

However, as a point of fact, the current economic situation we are in is NOT the blame of the Republicans. It is also NOT the blame of the Democrats. It is a shared blame of both the Democrats and the Republicans! I think every single person currently in office should be booted out, however, as a fine example, look at Polosi. We, the Amercan people, were told that we couldn't know what was in the healthcare bill until AFTER it was passed and she was still re-elected.

Why not the pleasantly rude lady at the DMV or one of the 25 extra highway workers that are out there holding up their shovels while one works, or maybe the congressman who spends our money to cover their own indiscretions .... don't you think they could possibly stand to do with less of your money instead of the men and women (you again) who are on the wall defending our country ??

Not only are you getting screwed by paying taxes to pay your own salary ... but this schmuck wants to take your tax money and NOT GIVE YOU THE RAISE !! Talk about not even getting the benefit of a reach-around :shakeheadno:.

freezing military pay and benefits for 3 years on about 1.5 mil active and 1.5 reserve members nets their 9.2 billion dollar savings, alright thats for close to 3 million people.

with a little less than 600 members and just the base annual pay and not including the extra money majority leaders and speaker of the house gets in a 3 years nets in 255 million, quarter of a billion dollars in savings from less than 600. this doesn't include any bonus money or retirement packages that they get.
