Startin the new week. had to reschedule my dental appnt for the 4th time because I'm just too busy at work haha. I really like going from days to mids because Days watch is where I can get things done.. Mids; nothing ever happens.
Got my official EIDW PQS book today, 150 pages :eek:
So, you are days now? 0630-1830?
Get busy, sounds like you have a lot to learn!

Sent out the all hands email (which I've been given permission by my chief to do) for command football yesterday. about 30 mins later, I get a reply back from my former chief who I had a lot of problems with.
"ITSN, when you get a chance stop by my office. I'd like to rap with you"
I'm thinkin oh shit what did I do now? Maybe he was going to get pissed because he didn't know i was given permission to send the all hands emails...
Even though it said "when you get a chance" I grabbed my cover and headed down the street asap.
I get there......
and apparently he wanted to congratulate me and tell me that I am doing a great job. He listed off all the stuff I'm doing, so he must have done some quick research. He even mentioned that he was one of the more "pationate" people when it came down to some previous escapades that I have done. He told me hes going to make damn sure people in the Dept. Head meeting know I'm the only E3 & below in the EIDW program and that hes glad I'm using the potential that he knows I had.
He also asked me what had changed, and I didn't have the guts to tell him that when the CoC changed I felt it was like a 2nd chance, so I told him how i just dug into doing all my stuff to not get in trouble, and eventually it got to me and I'm too busy to get in trouble lol.
Steve, it sounds like you have it all figured out and people are taking notice. Good for you on getting on the straight and narrow!
Good things are starting to happen for you Shipmate!

Michael will be finished with C school in October and will load up his truck and head to San Diego. He cannot wait to get out of Biloxi and out in CA. Looking forward to seeing him and definitely look forward to visiting him as soon as we can.
Is he coming home on leave before heading to CA?

Nope. Heading west. He'll end up driving straight through or something, just like it did from here to Biloxi (a bit over 16 hours). :eterollll:

We knew he wouldn't head back here...since we're going to see him before he leaves and go out to visit him in San Diego we just sort of told him to save some leave for the second visit. Plus I'm sure he and his gf will probablywant to get together when she gets back from a brief deployment. The driving out west will once again get the "stop for the night since it's going to be a longer trip than it was from VB to MS" and hopefully he will listen this time.
Just for the heck of it. I mapped the trip from Biloxi to San Diego. It is 1,882 miles and according to Google Maps that trip will take 1 day 7 hours. LOL.

I'll be making the reverse trip from that, but they give you 4 days.. I'll probably use all 4 since I'll be on the motorcycle. I mean its possible that I buy a jeep and tow it, but I'd really like to make it on the bike
Yeah if you do it on the bike, be extra careful. Especially when you get tired and not as alert!

Thanks DK for that info. However, Mr. Lead-foot Larry will probably make it in a fraction of that time even with warnings about Mr. Policeman being on the look-out for speeders. He made it to Biloxi from VaBch in a little over 16 hours.
