I stayed on the couch watching TV, popping percocet, muscle relaxers and drinking beer from Friday about 1pm until last night about 9:30pm.

Dk3 knows how to party. I'm sad i didn't really have any beer when I was prescribed percocet... oh well they just told me my top wisdoms need to be removed :)
Man it was loads of fun (not!). The pain started about 2am Friday morning! Thought I was going to die! Still have 12 percocet's and 14 muscle relaxers left but haven't needed them at all today. So, hopefully the worse has passed!
Sounds like all you did was shop online! Did you not get any liberty over the weekend?

Those clothes sure have a "european" look about them ... if you start wearing them goofy pointy-toed shoes that them boys sport around in over there ... I'm dis-owning ya !!
DK3's lit again ... with his Perco-weiser coctails. He's gonna look for another bone to break once the rib has healed.
As for my input ....
Mrs. Pistol & I shipped off #2 son to Moab, Utah to start a new job in a copper mine. Following in the family business ... grampa, uncle and even dad (for a few years) were all miners. He's starting off at $20.00 an hour ... not too shabby for never being exposed to it before.
I was wrestling with my daughter yesterday ... Maggie the black lab got a little over protective ... I believe MY ear will be fine without stitches ... the dog's might not though :cool:
Cheers,

Just got off work, 0730 have battle of the commands, and then work at 2100 again tonight, on my off day, for the 2nd time in the last 3 weeks.

Spent it nursing our youngest (lol almost 21) who had surgery last Thursday.....it rained so wonderful husband had to rest and not work on remodel of house!
DK3's lit again ... with his Perco-weiser coctails. He's gonna look for another bone to break once the rib has healed.
hmmmm, haven't had to take anything for two days, what can I break now that won't hurt too bad....:undecided:

One of our house rabbits use to nip like crazy. If you would get your face too close to his, he would nip. One day, I decided that if he can nip me, I can nip him. So, everytime he would nip me I would grab his ear and nip his ear. The look he would give me, kind of like "hey, I'm a pretty little rabbit, why are you biting me!". Needless to say, he doesn't nip any more.

Too much physical labor. I'm sure it is well earned!

What is this?

You're young, besides, you get to harass innocent sailors!
Two days without taking percocet or muscle relaxers!!!!!:woohoo:
Am taking ibuprofen though, but just a couple for the occasional minor pain!!!

How much water do you drink a day?
I drink about 2 gallons. 130oz during the day at work and about 60oz before and after work and then I flush my system out with beer. :)

i have no idea. if I had to guess, somewhere around 6-8 liters if I have an infinite supply (work if we are the day section because we are the only ones who will go to supply and get some -.-).. If I'm at home, idk. probably about 3-4 liters a day
If you are doing 8 litters, you and I are drinking about the same amount. I've been doing that since 2003 when I totally stopped drinking cokes, et al. I used to drink 3 or 4 liters of coke per day. Haven't touch a single coke since March 2003 and I lost a lot of weight after that. March 2003 is also when I started walking 60+ minutes per day.

Dear Navy College Office,
Screw you. Apparently when I dropped my class in march they told me I had to pay $165 to cover it. That wasn't the case, i actually had to pay $490 to cover it. I have not recieved 1 phone call, 1 letter in the mail, 1 email; NOTHING. So now $325 is up for collections. Now I have to pay the navy this amount, and apparently it will be withdrawn all at once from my paycheck (yay). I called my LPO and she said that I'm okay and I don't have to report it to NCIS... I'm going to PSD monday and telling them not to withdraw it all at once, but to take increments.
I am REALLY upset that it happened like that. I'd really like to tell somebody in my chain and have them be liek WTF and call down there...
Debts owed to the United States --
I am going to assume that they are going to say that since you dropped the class, it will be considered "Fault of Member". If that is the case DOD Pay regs state:
50-6 DoD Financial Management Regulation Volume 7A, Chapter 50 January 2010
(1) Fault of the Member. An overpayment of pay or allowances determined to be caused by fault of the member will be recovered in monthly installments not to exceed two-thirds of the member’s disposable monthly pay. The field office will initiate formal due-process notification to the member after receipt of a management notice from the pay system and initiate debt collection based on an appropriate liquidation schedule. A greater percentage may be deducted with the member’s consent.
If they consider the overpayment to be "No Fault by Member" Then here is the applicable regulation:
(2) No Fault by the Member. An overpayment of pay or allowances determined to be through no fault of the member will be recovered in monthly installments. For overpayments described in this subparagraph that are made on or after October 29, 2009, the Secretary concerned is required to provide a reasonable opportunity for the member to request a delay in the imposition of the repayment requirement to recover the overpayment. Before beginning collection efforts, the Secretary concerned shall consider the reasons provided by the member for the requested delay, including the financial ability of the member to repay the indebtedness, and the hardship that immediate collection would impose on the member and the member’s dependents.
(a) If overpayment was made to member on or before October 28, 2009, then the overpayment will be recovered in monthly installments not to exceed 20 percent of the member’s disposable pay for each month.
(b) If overpayment was made to member on or after October 29, 2009, then the overpayment will be recovered in monthly installments not to exceed 15 percent of the member’s disposable pay for each month.
So, they shouldn't take it out in one lump sum unless you approve it.

Hopefully I can convince them to make it no fault of the member. I would have been GLAD to pay at a normal rate had they INFORMED ME I owed them this money. and this will be my main point when going to PSD. I still am going to write a respectful, but NASTY email to the virtual Education center where complaints are to be addressed. I'm glad this is how they treat those fighting for their country, and trying to better themselves with an education.
That all sounds good, just keep in mind word's can have repercussions. Don't write anything that could come back to haunt you. A complaint is good and should be made, just beware of what you write! :)
MacSteve
09-10-2010, 06:46 PM
Like I said I will be respectful, and I'm going to verify it w/ my LPO before I send it to make sure its within reason. But I want it to be known that its absolutely ridiculous that I have recieved not one notice from them saying I owe this money. I was informed because i was sorting out another issue with the college office regarding grades.

trying to study for IT3, this is the most boring stuff ever.. i just started doing practice exams and got a 53% on the IT computer/network side and 12% on the military uniforms test... I'm done studying for today; I think this advancement I'll have to credit towards my 2 years in rate & EP lol
I am a manual type of guy. I read manuals, however, those manuals for the advancement exams were horrible. I very much hated reading them. They always put me to sleep!

Say goodbye to another Sailor...
Got word tonight that one of our dudes flipped his car and blew a .13 on the breathalyzer--well above the legal limit. He was okay and more or less walked away from the crash, but yea... 2 weeks ago he got taken in to the hospital by some chief because he got so drunk across the street at a bar he couldn't say his name, was stumbling over himself and puked all over himself to... so in 1 month thats an ARI (alcohol related incident) followed by a DUI causing a potentially lethal crash.
I wouldn't be surprise if he was kicked out.... he'll be DAMN lucky if he doesn't.
One thing is for sure, he can say goodbye to living in his nice house outside of base

Ahhh ... nothing like holding revielle at 0415 on a Sunday ... to discover that the dog ATE MY LEATHER COUCH !!
Anyone want a female black lab ... with a size 9 boot stuck up her arse ??
At least the coffee is good this morning !! Everyone belly up ... I made Kona vanilla & macadamia coffee and DK3 is bringing the donuts and kolaches !!
Enjoy the day ahead of us, y'all .... your freedom was provided by the men & women of the United States Military !! GOD BLESS AMERICA !!!
Cheers,

I definitely got the donuts. In fact it is 0813 EST and we are about to head to Shoney's for breakfast.

Shoneys... /cry
I could totally go for a grease & lard filled American Breakfast right now...
hmmmm, it was good too. Had the all star breakfast, with scambled eggs w/cheese, bacon, grits and toast. Unsweet tea!
We went to Walmart to do our weekly shopping. I was wearing my Caron ballcap. I walked in and this 50ish guy looked at me and said "Good morning squid". I looked at him and noticed he was wearing a US Marine ballcap. I said to him "Good morning to you too Jarhead!" He laughed and patted me on the shoulder and continued on!

lol i read this and just had to. Sounds like a fun incident. Tonight finishes my last night of my group of watches; I'm off til wednesday :).. well I would be off if I didn't have football & boyscouting on monday and class on tuesday. Oh well, I enjoy it.
for the 2nd time though I'm going to have to reschedule my teeth cleaning because no way am I waking up after 2-3 hours of sleep to try to catch a ride to the other base for a stupid appointment. they can wait until I'm on a day watch.
Hey, I'm the official picture poster person for the Cafe! You're just a faker.....
Well, that's one way of doing it, I certainly wouldn't want to wake up after 2-3 hours of sleep to go for a teeth cleaning.
Summons update.
Drumroll please.
Hand me the envelope please.
I am now currently 89.6% complete.

wish me luck guys.. test is tomorrow @ 0600
Good Luck!!!!!!!! Got the fingers and toes crossed too!
Man, 0600 for the test?
MacSteve
09-15-2010, 01:35 PM
yup.. be there at 0600, 0630 test starts.
Do get off early so you can get some rest before the test since you work nights?
MacSteve
09-15-2010, 01:56 PM
LPO gave me the night off ;)
sadly I spent this whole day sleeping.. like seriously. I wasn't able to fall asleep until 7am yesterday, and slept all the way to 7pm.. so i have a feeling I'll end up being up for it.
Well, rest and take it easy! After a certain point, I wouldn't look at your books again until after the test otherwise you *might* start second guessing your answers in the morning!
Again, lot's of good luck is flowing from Knoxville!

09-15-2010, 02:56 PM
yea so i have no books.. i have an online thing that i was looking at for about 2 hours a few days ago.
thats all the studying I did; I won't lie.
They no longer use books or you just opt to go online? I would hate that, if that is the case. If there is anything online that I have to study, I have to print it out first.
MacSteve
09-15-2010, 03:29 PM
you can order a study guide paperback.. or you can actually dig up the references and read through them.. but doing it online they have quizzes you can take and the most up to date versions of those pubs
So, how did it go?
From my calculations it is approximately 1400 your time, although you may be asleep by now....
MacSteve
09-16-2010, 08:22 AM
sadly I'm not asleep just yet; after i had to attend the EIDW training; which we took 9 pages of notes!!!!
It went pretty well. I was one of the first finished, I guess because I'm just kind of a test taker.. There was a decent amount of stuff I didn't know, but most of it I wouldn't been able to know just by studying.. like what kind of antenna's do we use xx for and such... I knew my fairshare and I feel i did pretty well overall.
I know that my profile sheet didn't show my eval points or my EP; i was like WTF. I went to admin and he first said he didn't have an eval for me. I asked him to look through his stuff. so he looked through his logs i guess and then found it entered and then told me he would take care of it. Then i mentioned it didn't say "yes" under LDO Candidate/Early Promotion; and he swore up & down I didn't get an EP.. he woulnd't do anything further so I grabbed his LPO and asked her and she made him look it up; Bam that big X in the "early promote" box never felt better.
I'm going to check up on monday and get PROOF that he sent that shit. I'm not playing around when it comes to this. especially since I'm going to be applying for officer programs and stuff, this EP NEEDS to be on file.
Yes, definately follow up. Don't get screwed by some lazy admin type. Keep this in mind that I AM a admin type, we unfortunately have lazy guys out there (like all rates).
Good, I'm glad you felt pretty good about it! Here's hoping for IT3 Steve later in the fall.
