Hello all, I know most of you :smile: Jon has been in the Navy for a year and a half, and has 13 mos. left on his 2 yr. deployment to Bahrain. He is part of a 12 member team, Mobile Security Squadron Det. 3. Their job is security, mainly on ships, but go "wherever" and do "whatever" is needed. He is currently on a mission, of course we don't know where. Hard not knowing where he is, but we know he is not on a ship this time. This Navy thing sort of popped up out of nowhere after his first year in college. He was safely in Criminal Justice when he called and asked what we would think about the service. I said do not talk to any recruiters other than Navy, my dad was in the Navy along with 3 of Jon's uncles. He entered the DEP program, guaranteed entry to MA program with about 6 mos. until his ship date when suddenly it was moved up. We had one week to get used to the fact he would be leaving! The rest, of course, is now history!
We have been married almost 35 years and have 4 other children,Thomas 23 holds a Culinary Arts degree and manages a Starbucks, Tim 20 is a college student majoring in business admin, Kelli 16 a junior in high school varsity cheerleader, and the "baby" Heidi 14 is in 8th grade, also a cheerleader and sings in a jazz choir. I am an office administrator for a real estate company and hubby just retired from sheet metal after 35 years. He does custom finish work for a local contractor. We have two very active Portuguese Water Dogs 3 and 2 yrs old who go everywhere we go. Kinda like having toddlers again, they are into everything! We live in beautiful Brookings, Or and have 5 acres with incredible views of the mountains. That's about it for those of you who didn't know me.
