Just thought I'd stop in and say hello. My oldest son is graduating high school June 1, 2007 and is supposed to leave for Great Lakes June 19th. He is very excited and my husband and I are very proud of him. I'm glad there is a site like this!

Usually you get a form letter that they write a brief paragraph on a few weeks. Regular letters from them usually don't start coming for three weeks. We didn't get a phone call from our son until after Battlestations at the end of boot camp. Sometimes if their division does real well on something they can earn a phone call home but don't count on it. Good luck.

The first few weeks are probably the hardest for them and us. Keep writing him letters and always, always keep them postive and up beat. He needs your support now more than ever. If you care to share his address with me, in a private message of course, I'd be happy to write him. You can never have too many Navy moms and dads on your side. Just let me know.

Yes it will be around week 3 that you will start getting real letters.....first will be the form letter from the Navy and there will be about 3 or 4 lines that he will be able to write you a note......take heart....Brandon wrote that "Boot Camp sucked".....we hear a lot of that.... but he will make it thru this....right now is just the hardest time with the not knowing how they are doing....but you will hear from him soon! Phone calls are real few and far between....hang in there!
