Ships Deploying 2010

Is there any way i can find what ships are deploying in late 2010 or at anytime for that matter. As you may remember im going in undesignated and ive been told im going straight to a ship so im curious to see which ones are deploying around my PIR. Thanks in advance.

That wouldn't help you anyways. You could be assigned to a ship that is already deployed. Which means that you would be flown to where they expect the ship to be.

Boy, that can be an interesting trip all by itself ... trying to catch up to your ship overseas.

Spent several days sitting on my butt, sweating and eating balogna sammiches in Bahrain only to be told that I still wasn't in the right place ...

Chief, do you remember waiting on the snail mail to catch up to the ship because it was always being sent to where they *thought* the ship was going to be but things changed?!

Oh, the memories! Then when we did get the mail, everyone always managed to find a way to stand around the post office while the postal clerk sorted the mail....

Hubby and his best bud were in the middle of a Med cruise when they were sent back to GL for C school (this was when I met him). When they were heading back to the ship (they were both EN's on a destroyer tender), they apparently had a heck of a time catching up to their ship also. He brings this story up periodically even after all of these years.....:laugh:
