whatttttttttttttttttt !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Both sides are postering. Hopefully this won't turn hot since we have so many troops on the border, especially since we have troops already committed to two hot areas.
If it does turn hot, I hope the politics will stay out to allow the Generals and Admirals to do their job, but it would be doubtful.

I doubt South Korea will start war; but if it happens I see US, Japan, South Korea, and a few other supporters just mauling over North Korea.. China isn't going to back them.
I do see the "S. Korea alliance" doing exactly what was said and doing more and more exercises showing North Korea that it WILL NOT happen again..
My question is.. don't they have countermeasures against subs? I know american ships do...
Also I want to add... meet me in the Yellow Sea.. Its goin doown

I would suggest that they do, however, they got caught with their pants down.
Although at a minimum, I would assume that they would have been using sonar, either active or just listening and would have heard the torpedo coming?
Never know though, I guess.

hmm yeah theres been a few articles on how they let the sub get so close without noticing at all, it is an election year in korea. But Clinton has been talking about action being taken against N korea. There were a few survivors and they have seen then been given a gag order for speaking about the incident. pretty sick to use these dead sailors lives as some kind of political motive, but then again politicians are a different breed of people.

another site of mine was saying it would be funny to just line up a bunch of destroyers and artillery strikes and evacuate Seoul. Watch N. korea freak out...
A former marine was claiming that our Counter Battery radar is so good that we can have artillery rounds on the way before an attacking mortar hits the ground..

UPDATE
http://www.cnn.com/2010/WORLD/asiapcf/05/25/n.korea.threats/index.html?hpt=T2
North Korea accused the South Korean navy of trespassing into its waters Tuesday and threatened to retaliate with military action, the Yonhap news agency said
A North Korean military official accused the South of intruding into North Korean waters in the Yellow Sea from May 14 to 24, the news agency reported.
U.S. President Barack Obama has directed military commanders to work with South Korean troops "to ensure readiness and to deter future aggression" from North Korea.
ugh this just got worse.. Seems North Korea just wants to fight..

looks like things are still building, but I still doubt north Korea would do such a thing. Its pretty much economic suicide for north korea. then again kim is a angry little asian man with cancer.......what does he care?

This is a news article on Fox News. We ask for your prayers as our daughter, Jennifer is on the USS George Washington and they are currently out on a deployment.
Jennifer did not know where they were going but her dad and I found out tonight on Fox News that they may be heading there!

No worries about OPSEC on this sort of mission ... the US wants for this to be widely known ... it's all about posturing.
Key statement in the article is: Such a deployment would be a show of force by the U.S., which has vowed to protect South Korea and is seeking to blunt aggression from North Korea.
Now ... if we were really worried about North Korea's intentions ... we'd be sending more than one carrier and her entourage.
One can only wonder just where we have the submarines ........you know, the ones that can sneak up on ya with all the real nasty weapons !!!

China will never have to raise a finger in anger ... they'll just keep sending us poison painted toys for our kids to play with every time they get a Happy Meal and eventually the entire nation will be drooling and wearing helmets !!
