i didn't run a chit to get married. my Chain of Command is pretty cool about it though.

The reason for running a request when planning to get married is to make your Chain of Command aware that you will be experiencing some changes to your pay, medical / dental benefits, life insurance benefits, housing requirements etc ....
You may need to enlist the help of your chain of command to unscramble some of the mess that come with making these changes.
The Commanding Officer has responsibilities to your family .... and will want to get your new spouse in contact with the Command Ombudsman (liason between the command group at your duty station and the spouses).
I never once saw anyone turned down for getting married .... however there were a few that should've been !!
