I have a question for those of you who have had daughters to go in...

Today the supervisor told me that I needed to get a bathing suit and sports bras?????????? Should I????

I wouldn't get very many of the sports bras. Do a search on N-P. One of the parents said most of the stuff got sent back in the infamous BOX. Even though it was on the list. Do get the one piece swim suit Navy blue or Black. Pengilum said it is in the Dep guide. I think Missingmyerica posted a thing about what got sent back.

Yea, it is in the DEP quide, I cant tell you the page, because I dont know where mine is. But I do know it is in the back, in the what to bring section, it has a section for women on what to bring.

well, on N-P they said NOT to bring anything......?? hmm..lemme read the DEP book...lol. My brother didn't take ANYTHING......

yea, i dont plan on taking anything but what i wear there. And I will throw away anything they want me to send back, or donate it.

Iirc (i'm going back 16 years) They made us mail home a post card and phone home to let the family know one we made it safely and what our current address will be.

Hi, Just wanted to know if you Deppers/parents have checked out the Recruit Training website at Great Lakes. They have lots of good info, there is also a forum you can join and there is a parent forum as well. Once the recruits arrive, about a day or so after they leave home, you can call the Public Affairs office to get their address. Once I found out the ship/division my son was in I posted it to find other families who had a recruit that were in his same ship/division -- each time we heard from our recruit, we contacted each other via e-mail for updates. It was really helpful. Here's the websites:
