You might want to bring other clothes as well...it gets VERY COLD there! At least bring layers, as then you can add or remove as needed. He most likely wont be able to be off base over night, usually they have to be back on base by 8 or 9 each evening. IF he is grad-n-go and his school is there in Great Lakes, he MIGHT have weekend privileges..or if his school is in another state, and grad-n-go, you will only have a few hours to spend with him and with his family.

Samantha, Congratulations on your sailor's graduation. Of course you must wear a dress! Oh, you don't have to, as anything pretty much goes at PIR (graduation). You will see everything from formal to very casual. However your sailor will simply love to greet you when liberty is called in a nice dress and all the fixins!

If you are going soon, just take a sweater or another warm thing to bundle up in if the weather will be a little chilly. The wait at the NEX building is not long, and there are heaters above in the gathering area. The walk to the big drill hall is not long, and by that time you probably won't feel the cold anyway! Ha Ha

Graduation is a real experience. When the big door finally goes up, well it is the finest, most exciting experience of a lifetime, only to be excelled by your wedding, and birth of your first child. Subsequent child's birth does not compare, HaHa!

Oh, don't forget the high heels!

It hasn't been to cold here yet, no snow or anything.

When is his graduation? Usually in December - January it starts to get really really cold so just be prepared.
