Still Waiting to Leave Great Lakes

Hi all, I'm a little confused and frustrated at the same time. My son's PIR was 2/2/07 -- he thought he was going to Pensacola the following Wednesday. Then he was told he would go to San Diego on 2/15/07; then he was told, no, he's going to Pensacola on 2/16/07 -- yesterday, I got a phone call from him telling me that, no, he's on hold at Great Lakes -- he'll find out more next week!!! He spent a good part of Wednesday shoveling snow. I know he's ready to move on. What's the deal with all the changes. I know that Pensacola is backed up. But what is going on???

When my daughter graduated from basic on 11/22/06 she was on hold there until 12/6/06 before she got to leave for MA School in San Antonio. I know her MA school was over crowded and they had not beds for the new sailors to arrive - that may be what the problem is. While she was delayed they had to shovel snow too - not to much fun. Tell him to hang in there - he will get to his school - you just have to have patients with the Navy.

Will's job is Aviation Machinist Mate -- guess what???? He called my husband this a.m. and told him that he is leaving for Pensacola tomorrow! I guess he'll call us tonight or tomorrow with more info. I'll keep you all posted.
