I wrote a poem for my son who is on his way to Navy life in May - I thought I'd share it with you.
Raising Casey
Such a fighter from the first
Kicking and screaming as to say
“Let me out into the world or
otherwise I might burst!”
A happy little boy,
full of hugs and joy.
He will always be my little doodle bugs
and no matter how many he’d give,
he could never give me enough hugs.
Smart as can be,
a bit rebellious too,
“I got it!” was what he’d say to me.
So now he’s all grown up,
and off to new things,
he’s joined the Navy.
Honor, Courage and Commitment.
He’s GOT IT and I’m as proud as any parent can be.
