Hey im Eric and just went through MEPS on the 28th. What a beautiful experience that was  Actually it wasnt too bad, i got to hang out in the office with all the recruiters while the other hopefuls had to wait in the waiting room. So im here now, apart of this great community and hoping to learn a lot before i ship out.
Rate hopefully will stay as contracted SECF ship date 20100602.

Submarine Electronics/Computer Field. Its because the Navy doesnt really need us right now, mission for my recruiters for July was like 6 recruits. I elected to leave earlier if a position became available at an earlier date.

That's because not everyone and their dog was joining when you signed up. When the jobs in the economy start shriveling up and the dollar doesn't go as far as it should, people start considering the military as a viable option.

Be thankful that it is set up this way ... if everyone came in at once your advancement opportunities would fall so fast it would make your head spin. To put it in Navy Snipe terms .... ya gotta balance the flow of the intake with the flow of the exhaust !!

Cheers,
PISTOL

PS .... Congratulations on a great career eboslar1 !!!

for reals..

hmm I wonder what SECF's actually do. It sounds like IT/ET mixed into 1 on Subs. I know ITs are not on subs right now either.

Thank you for the Congrats! Actually depending on the needs of the Navy and my test scores in "A" School SECF branches into ET, FT or STS So really all i will be dealing with mostly is service and operation of the computers on the sub. Im kinda hoping for FT because im extremely interested in the weapons systems on subs!
