I'm shipping off to basic in two days! I think I've got all my ducks in a row, and I can't wait. 8.3 weeks in scenic Great Lakes and then it's off to A-School in Dam Neck VA, just in time for the winter. Whats the weather like in the Norfolk area during the winter?

Colder'n a well digger's backside !!!
I wish you the best of luck in your new profession !!
In just two days you will go from being just another person walking the streets to someone who is admired by an entire nation for their sacrifice.
This won't sink in for quite a while but trust me ... when it does, it will make your chest swell with pride and bring tears to your eyes !!;)
Keep your head held high and focus on what's important. Thank you for volunteering !!
Cheers,
PISTOL

i got the feeling once I was handed my ID. not sure why, but I stared at my ID every night for about 7 weeks.
I still do look at it from time to time and smile :)

If you are from NY..... then winter in Norfolk has to be better than were you are. Anywhere south of NY is a improvement. LOL....

Well, I'm checking my email one last time before I leave. Thanks to everyone on the forums for helping me out, answering my questions, and being part of the worlds finest navy. I'll be back in a few months.

RDC's know their divisions and usually start processing them next a few days after their previous graduates.
If hes leaving now, and you graduated on the 31st, I doubt he will get ADC Reed.
they had a few weeks off before they took on there next division so who knows.

Good luck, have fun and enjoy the ride.
The weather at Damneck is cold in the winter/ more so the ocean breeze, you will be less than 100 yards from the ocean. I was there in June-Aug and it was great. The food is outstanding.
Basic training is a piece of cake if you go into it with that mind thought, also the weather will be nice.
What are you going in as? I was an OS.
