Glad to have you on here, Derrick !!
Please take a few minutes to tell us the kind of stuff that you learned in yout A-school. I believe there will be several people out there that would be quite interested to know what you are now trained to do .... at the ripe old age of 19 !!!
Cheers,
PISTOL

I would like to know what is expected of you at A school and how all that jazz works. Can I bring my car, computer, cell phone? Will I be able to leave base? or go to the NEX?
Please let me know ...
Pamela
Alright well heres my story.
I went to A school in Pensacola FL.
It works a bit different in every A school base but for the most part its still the same.
When you first get there from boot camp they put you on Phase 1 liberty for 21 days which means you have to be in uniform at all times and you can only leave base on the weekends and you must be in uniform and you have to muster everynight for a phase 1 muster.
After 21 days you'll be phase 2 wich means you can wear civilian clothes and leave base everyday after the work day you just have to be back on base by 2200 (10 pm)
After 21 days of Phase 2 you'll be the final Phase 3 liberty wich is the same as Phase 2 during the week you have to be back by 2200. But on the weekends you can leave friday night and you dont have to return until Sunday night at 2200.
You can go to the NEX anytime you want after the work day and you can have cell phones, computers, TVs, DVD players. Pretty much anything you want.
And you dont have reveille or anything so you get up on your own everyday and go to bed whenever you want. And on the weekends do whatever you want as long as its not getting in trouble with the law. I normally just slept in and went to the beach later on in the day.
I trained for Helo's in A school. So we learned the internal workings of the engine, About propulsion and thrust theories. Pretty much the basic break down of a Helo. You learn what you need to know to go into your first command and at least know a bit about what your working on. You'll learn most of the stuff with on the job training
