hi, i hope someone has the knowledge to help answer these questions. so, im about to be 20 in a couple months and well, ive been looking into the navy. ive met with the recruiter twice already and my tickets have come up. i have about 15 of them, most just traffic violations. no misdimeanors or felonies but 2 underage drinking tickets, 3 truancies, a curfew and a trespassing ticket for skating the roof of a building are included in those. do you think these tickets will be waived? i also am very concerned that my medical history will be brought up. i need to know if they will check it because when i was 17 i accidently overdosed and it was a very serious thing. it was completely unintentional and it seems to haunt me to this day. im not currently using any drugs of any kind but im afraid if they find this out they will assume im not competant and it will completely hinder me from joining. if they only check medical records for some rates, can you tell me which ones those are? im a pretty intelligent guy and im afraid my past mistakes are catching up with me but i need to know if there is still a chance for me in the military. 2 cents?

I will leave this up to the more "seasoned" people on here...but as far as medical...they will check your history and you must fill out the papers of any and all times you have been in the hospital and why.

You have to fess up about the overdose and the tickets.
When you go to meps you sign a release that gives them access to ALL your medical files.

I really wouldn't hold my breath ...

You have pretty much established a solid, bad track record of poor judgement ... and it's gonna haunt you for quite a while until you have a BETTER track record for doing the right things. The military isn't the place for people who make poor decisions. Too many of us or our loved ones lives are in the balance.

Clean yourself up, pay your tickets, stop getting more and then try again later on. You have a few years until you reach the age limit ... use them wisely.

Cheers,

Not trying to beat you up .... we have all done stupid things. The key is to learn from them.
