How do I find out?

Hello,

I have a daughter with whom we (her step-mom, younger brother and myself) have been in contact with since the beginning of the year.

She (Morgan) kept telling me she was going into the Navy. Thing is, we have a past of her not being entirely truthful about what is going on in her life.

I've been trying to contact her for about a month, but there is no answer on her phone, just music and a recording to leave a message. I mainly want to know if she is well and safe, so, this is leading to my main question.

How do I find out if she is really in U.S.N Boot Camp? Her full name is: Francis Morgan-Rose Combs. If anyone has some idea about how she is doing, we would greatly appreciate it.

francis combs, morgan combs, nor rose combs popped up on NKO, but she may just not be in that stage of training where they make NKO accounts.

on the front of that website is a contact # for NETC command, They should be able to give you information, or a phone number leading to the information.

Victory! but yea they get an account during bootcamp now, its pretty cool because you kind of satisfy your cravings to surf the web.

Well, I don't want her in trouble should I make inquiries, as I know sometimes a CO can get a bit stern when it comes to communication with family. Morgan might have joined, and not tell me for some reason, and I don't claim to understand her way of thinking.

My family isn't very close anyway. So, if it pans out that Morgan is elsewhere than in a Boot Camp somewhere......well, have to see what happens I guess.

You can always go and talk to a local recruiter to see if they can help you find out...

if her phone is playing music then its obviously still turned on, so it must be plugged in somewhere. Unless the music is part of her voice mail.... just a thought.

I considered that as well. Thing is, the voice mail box should eventually get useddto the point of a recording coming on and saying "sorry, but this mail box is full". It's been about 6 weeks, give or take a few days, and I can still leave messages.

If she's in boot camp she won't have her phone with her, all personal effects are boxed up and sent home or elsewhere.

I don't think it would cause her any problems if you inquired if she is there.

Good luck in locating her, it must be a difficult feeling not knowing.

Tried calling, and no joy. The person I talked with said something about computer problems. I know there are privacy issues, and those get more and more complicated.

As far as the phone, I guess unless you cancel your phone (we use TracFone, so it's different than how Verizon or others work), the company keeps it open and in use until the voice mail box gets full.

Anyhow, maybe she'll turn up somewhere somehow. Mainly just want to know she is ok, and is safe. I know she won't be listed as "in the Navy" until she completes boot camp, so she is still a recruit. I mainly just want to know IF she is in, and if she is, then it's all good. If not, well, then I need to start searching elsewhere.
