my rate before was HT Hull Maintence Technician

You will like DC more than HT ..... although you will work in the same division and share some of the workload.

Do yourself a favor .... learn all you can about the rate and be that person who sets the example !! There are many DC-men who do the minimum and your advancement will suffer for that choice.

oh god will you like DC more then HT.

Ive met 6 HT's and they all hate their jobs.

You have to get into design & fabrication as well as plumbing to excel as an HT. I had a couple HTs who loved their rate ... of course they strived to be the best. They both attended a "C" school to be allowed to weld on nuclear systems (piping, casings ... etc).

I liked DC because of the constant training. Both giving and receiving. Seemed like I was at the flight deck team trainer at least once a quarter .... that's some fun stuff !!

**** If you are stationed on a ship, I highly recommend becoming a member of the flight deck fire team ... commonly known as "Smash & Crash Crew". There is extra pay associated with it and this is great fire training that can be used after the Navy.

Cheers,
PISTOL

yeah i have studied on this rate and i know i will love this job. and i am going to work really hard to excel because the Navy is the best thing that ever happened to me and my family. I am wanting to prove that anyone can do anything they set their mind to.
