Hello everyone!
My name is Annie, but I was born "Shaquanna Anne", and I am 18 years old.
I have been thinking about joining the Navy for a long time.
A few of my friends have gone, and my best friend is due to leave this summer.
Then, a Navy recruiter visited one of our Business classes and talked to us for a while about joining.
I gave the recruiter my number, and I hope to start talking to him seriously about joining, soon.
I still have one more year of high school to do, but after that I think the Navy is the path for me to take. I am a mother to a 2 year old. His name is Salem Alexandar. I am engaged to his father, and have been with him for 6 years now.
I have had a rough life, with parents who were into drugs, and a mother who tried to poison us for calling the police to come and help us. So I know what it is like to have a terrible life. I want to be a better person because of it, and I know the Navy would help me be that much more of a better person than I am already.
I would like to hear from anyone who has "beginner" stories or anything like that and who can kind of give me more of a personal idea of what the Navy means to them, and what it could potentially mean for me as well.
:)
