For those that have already gone through the enlistment process when u spoke with the classifier was there a short list of ratings presented to u that u choose from? Does different ratings have sooner than later ship off dates and if so do they tell u that if its a factor in deciding which rating u r going to choose?

I know when I went through they basically handed me a list of ratings to choose from, but I cant remember if they included when the shipdates for the ratings were or if they different whatsoever. I dont think rating really matters for your shipdate, but more so for when your A school starts.

They present to you the openings that are available within a certain time frame.
If your not in a hurry to go, then you should hold out for the rating that you want.
Just remember if there is nothing available that your interested in, wait and go back again at a later date.

One tip I have for going to MEPS is bring a book or something to do during the downtime because it is going to be the most boring day of your life.lol.

my wife said she sat in the same chair for 7 hrs before they found a job for her, she scored below the navys entrance score but they still let her join the navy as a ao. her ship date was 2monthslater

Well I am scheduled to go on the 29th of this month depending on how I tape. This 1% is taking forever to come off. The measurements are always different depending on who tapes me. soooo fraustrating. I am going to be working really hard during these 2 weeks that I have before I am scheduled to go.

Good luck! I'm rooting for you! You've obviously been working extremely hard. Hopefully that last little bit just falls right off within the next two weeks. Water, water, water!

Wait until you get into bootcamp. :P Processing takes forever, AND you have to maintain perfect military bearing the entire time.
