Hello everyone. Leaving for basic next week and more excited than nervous. I've been in DEP for about 4 months. My current rate is IS (intelligence specialist). Just wanted to drop a message and say hello. This website seems like a cool place to meet fellow DEP'rs/Shipmates and navy family.

Don't be nervous! Make sure to make the best out of boot camp. I know that sounds weird now, but you'll know what I'm talking about once you get there. Make sure you know your rank/recognition, Sailor's Creed, 11 General Orders and anything else they put out to you and your life in for the next 8 weeks will be a breeze!!! And when you first get there it will be a little overwhelming, like having to learn how to fix your rack their way...man I didn't think I'd ever get that down! But just keep practicing and you'll be fine. Remember...you're getting paid the entire time! May not seem like much, but you don't do much other than folding clothes! Good luck to you!!!
