Hello all fellow Shipmates. I've been on dep for about two months now, I'm finishing this semester of college and then shipping to basic this July. Basically, I've been trying to soak up as much information about the Navy before I go in so that I'll make things easier for myself when I go through bootcamp as well as reach my career goals of becoming a Naval Officer. I started out on Dep excited to get the ball rolling, but I'm finding as my time gets closer to going in and the more I'm learning about the Navy military life,the more I am Axious of getting things started. I've gained a huge amount of pride just on Dep and going to meetings and working out with the group. I came across this website eager to find other like minded individuals, and I can see already, that it's a great community. :smile:

First off, I am extremely respectful of you for joining the Navy. That's a brave step to make!

Second, I'm glad that you chose this site to communicate and learn more!! :) Its nice to have new, excited faces!

Third, you will get a ton of support here. The people on this site are very welcoming and sympathetic! We all know what its like in some way or the other.

Congratulations on joining and good luck on your experiences!! If you need someone to talk to, I'm certainly here... but I' m afraid I can't answer specific questions about the navy (I'm just the girlfriend, after all. Lol!!!)

I just saw that you're from South Dakota!..I have a lot of family out there, in fact I'm going to two family reunions this Summer in SD. lol
My boyfriend is in the air force so I know exactly what it's like to be apart from your loved one. Hope all is well with you and hope to see you aroud the site. = )
